There is a big event this week taking place in Springville called Art City Days! Apparently, most cities in Utah have a carnival that goes through every year, and they do a bunch of celebrations, like parades and such. Springville's is called "Art City Days" because they're generally known as "Art City" because of the Art Museum that is located there.
Anyway... So James decided to take me to the first night (which was last night) and it was so much fun! I didn't really know it was coming, but James had been planning, and had even been setting aside money so we could actually do stuff there, and not just walk around. I thought that was really thoughtful of him :D
We played one game where you're supposed to throw darts at balloons and pop them. We got three darts and I made James do two and then I threw one. We popped a balloon with each one!

We won a prize! It was little, but it was so cute! It's a panda and I named him Bubba. Don't ask me why, I just felt that it was appropriate for him. I felt like I was in a movie as I was carrying him around, because my boyfriend pretty much won it for me. It was cute :)

Next, we had some hot dogs. I feel like if you're going to a carnival, you've either got to eat nachos, or hot dogs. So, we had Kranky Franks hot dogs, which were delicious! James said, "Let's eat these on the grass so it's like we're having a picnic! We'll kill two birds with one stone!" haha silly James. Then we got some funnel cake which was sooo good. We each got our own, thinking we'd be able to eat them whole ourselves. Boy were we wrong. I barely ate half of mine, and he ate about 3/4 of his. But they were also delicious, and another thing I feel should always be done at carnivals :D

Then, we were just hanging out with Jason Hermansen and his family in their own little corner of the carnival where they were selling these beautiful cards! Well, right next to their booth, was a temporary tattoo place. James decided to get one, and I did too. James got batman, and I got penguins! The lady even decided to do mine for free :D If you couldn't tell by now, James LOVES batman, and I absolutely adore penguins!

So anyway, we had a really good time!

So anyway, we had a really good time! However....
Before we had gone to the carnival, I had worked that day. Red Cross was hosting a blood drive at my work, so I decided to do my part in society and donate blood. I hadn't done it since high school, and I'd never experienced any problems before, so I thought "Hey, why not?"
Everything about donating the blood was great. I found out I'm not anemic, and it didn't even hurt as bad as I had remembered. The whole time I was just making jokes and laughing, not even thinking about it.
Finally, after I donated blood, waited the 15 minutes, and went back to work, I kinda felt like something was off. I didn't feel sick, and obviously I was missing a lot of blood in my system, but even the times I'd donated before I didn't feel whatever I was feeling. It wasn't necessarily bad, just different.
I was fine throughout the rest of the day and into the night at the carnival, just extremely tired, which was also weird to me because I couldn't remember that from previous times.
However, after I went to sleep that night, I woke up a couple hours later to feeling the worst than I have probably ever felt in my life. I felt dizzy. I felt EXTREMELY sick. I sat in the bathroom for probably an hour, and I even called James (who was more than willing to come to my side, but I said it was okay) to let him know. Finally I was able to go to sleep, hoping it would subside.
The same thing happened just a couple hours later.
So, I called in sick to work, and slept almost all day (which was nice), and I had originally blamed it on food poisoning, but putting everything together, I'm pretty sure it had to do with donating blood.
This story is super pointless I suppose, but I don't think I'm going to be as willing to donate in the future. And I'll probably never donate plasma, which is a shame, because I've really wanted to do that :( Oh well. Life goes on and I'm feeling much better now :)
That is all. Kay, bye!
