“Women are made to be loved, not understood” – Oscar Wilde
At first glance, I thought this statement was all cute and inspirational. But if anyone really knows me, I have to over-think everything.
Women are complicated, let’s face it. If men had hormones racing through their body every month, I think we would have a hard time understanding them as well. However, when I was putting more thought into this quote, it almost made it seem like women aren’t even worth trying to understand. It’s like, “Aww, you’re lips are moving, but all I hear is blah blah blah. You’re so cute, and I love you for trying!” And I’m not okay with that.
I know I’m reading way into this, but I couldn’t help it. And maybe I’m only proving the author’s point even further, but I don’t care.
I will give him the benefit of the doubt, and think that he was trying to compliment women and help men by saying that they need to love women regardless of how crazy they may seem.
