I took this picture during my senior year in high school. This show was at a fair in San Diego. The All-American Rejects were playing that night, and it just so happened to be my best friend's favorite band. So off we went on that two-hour drive down to San Diego to support this band and indulge our senses in what we considered to be something amazing.
The show was awesome. We were right in the front and successfully stopped any other teenage girls' attempts at pushing their way past us. The music was right there in our ears - We could feel it in our souls.
After the shows, they always kick everyone out so they can clean up and the band can leave. However, we were able to stay hidden so that the security guards wouldn't detect us there. We walked around all James Bond-like and eventually found the singer of the band. He greeted us and we took pictures with him. He was completely nice and sincere and it totally made our night. And THEN we were kicked out, but it was totally worth it.
I used to go to shows all the time in high school. As soon as I moved out to Utah, I didn't have anyone to go to shows with, and let's face it... Utah's music scene just isn't up to par (I blame it on the fact that many bands' tours go right through Utah and don't even stop... So lame). I want to make it a goal to go to more shows. Being in shows is one of the greatest feelings ever, and I feel that I can only enjoy this for so long.
