You know those warhead candies? I was just reminded of them today. I used to eat them all the time as a kid and completely forgot about them until a coworker handed me one at work today.
So, I remembered how much I used to looove them, I went and popped one in my mouth. I just about died. It was so sour! To be honest, I almost wanted to cry (I realized I'm not really a fan of sour candies). But then, after a little perseverance, I got through the sour part, and it became really sweet and very delicious. I was quite happy with my decision to not spit it out with just how good it was.
Of course I have to apply this to life, so I came up with my own life analogy (ten bucks says someone has already thought of this before, but I'd like to feel original for a moment). Life is like a warhead. Sometimes it's "sour" and tough. Sometimes it makes you want to cry and you wonder why you got yourself into this predicament. But then, after hard work, patience, and perseverance, you get through it and it becomes "sweet" and "delicious" and quite enjoyable.
The end!
A great lesson learned!!
ReplyDeleteWelp, there's my next church-talk material. Awesome analogy.
